The Process

PLANNING
Many of our customers have an abstract idea of what they want as an end result, but not what software should do. Skilled and experienced software engineers are vital to implement a full requirements analysis.

IMPLEMENTATION
Once the quote is approved, an initial concept design is presented to client. This happens prior to the actual coding of the project and gives the client a good sense of the user interface and branding of his final product.

On approval of the design, the project is given to various specialised coders to implement.

DEPLOYMENT AND MAINTENANCE
Once the code is appropriately tested, it is approved for release. Depending on the nature of the project, Netgen may offer marketing campaigns in support of the product as a seperate exercise. Software training and support is offered in-house for clients. Netgen is always committed to the maintenance of the project.

Small business owners are often stretched for time but the strength of a business can depend on efficient administration.

The solution for My Swim included the design and development of corporate website giving a public face to the business including details of what classes are offered, accreditation and contact details etc. www.myswim.co.za

However the beauty of the site is the backend. The business owner logs into a back end section of the website – where there are three main sections:

• Housekeeping
• Member Database
• Reports

The Housekeeping section is a space where the all the information regarding the business offering is recorded so in the case of My Swim – the swim classes venues, types of classes, frequency, and costs for the different classes.

The Member Database in this case is the database of swimmers and each swimmer/student is given a profile page with their contact and personal details and information. The database assigns an account code to each swimmer and all active members are assigned to the lesson type they have chosen to attend and the cost attached to that. The business owner can then quickly see which student is attending which class slots and how many students are in a particular class etc. The system also has and sms and email function so that the owner can send sms reminders or communications quickly and easily to a specific group or to individuals. The email functionality is a simple way to send out newsletters or other more detailed communication to the member database.

The Reports section allows for reporting on class schedules, class attendance register, contact details into a summarized contact list and a billing report for either monthly or term billing options. All reports can be downloaded and printed and the billing reports can be imported into almost any accounting package such as Quick Books or Pastel.
