This year, Netgen celebrates 10 years of commitment to excellence.
The original trio of Grant Scheffel, Hardy Esterhuizen and Matt Vreenegoor boasted a combined experience of over 30 years in the IT industry and their goal was to create good, affordable custom software in an environment where bigger companies overcharged and under delivered.
The small but stable company moved rapidly into the .net and web environment, collecting talented young IT professionals along the way. The growth has culminated in a software development company with teams of technical developers, mobi developers, application specialists and support. Today Netgen offers complete solutions including hosting, account management, brand building and design through to development.
Grant says Netgen is dedicated to offering the same personal service no matter how large the company becomes, and looks forward to the next 10 years with excitement and confidence.

Netgen’s services in 2010 cover a broad scope of solutions with pockets of specialisation, including its own software products which can be white labelled for clients. Netgen has established itself as an expert in environmental software and has developed various solutions for blue chip private clients as well as government departments. Most recently, and in keeping with the huge rise in mobile internet users, Netgen has created a specialised mobile development team. | Network Health Analysis 24/7
Netgen and Splitpoint have developed and rolled out a complete network heath monitoring system for Arivia. The solution is running throughout the Eskom Network and is managing the networks of 21 power stations centrally at Megawatt park. The system reads Packateer and shaper data. Based on algorithms tailor-made by Netgen, it provides realtime application monitoring and analysis of approximately 80 million data flow records per day in real time. The system runs on a VMWare platform and is supported by Netgen. It has been developed as a package and is currently being taken to market. |

| Netgen has successfully rolled out the PAVVS Point of Sale system. Over 100 terminals have now been commissioned and installed. The system retails electronic stock like airtime and checks customer credits and deposits real time via GSM modems. The software was custom designed for Provide-A-Voucher and all hosting and development is done by Netgen. The system also has the ability to capture Rica transactions and update on line.
