Netgen has been developing systems for PAV for 6 years now. As their requirements have changed Netgen has been there to support and enhance and add new functions to the systems.
The initial system consisted of a back-end head-office stock and customer control system. This then allowed us to very easily add POS (Point of Sales) terminals to the system. These touch screen devices are rolled out all over the country and are able to dispense, airtime, electricity as well as a host of other electronic voucher formats. They were also instrumental in ensuring a smooth transition to the Rica Systems.
The next system that was implemented was the bulk stock printing function where stock is moved around electronically and securely to reach a traders back office. The stock is purchased and authenticated online and the dealer is then able to print the vouchers for hawker trade. The system has a number of unique facilities that encrypt and keep track of this data so it can be audited.

Netgen was then tasked with developing the PAV hand help terminal. This device is similar to a credit card machine. The advantage is that it is totally portable and also runs off rechargeable batteries and connects via a GPRS modem which is built in.
Netgen is very excited with these developments and we are working on 2 or three new projects to keep this dynamic client ahead of the game.
