The relationship between South African’s and their domestic workers is a very close one. The relationships build up over years and a domestic worker becomes part of the family. Inscon Risk Services and Verex Consulting have recently launched a unique web based solution, DomesticAssist, which provides low cost financial insurance solutions and HR Services for Employers of Domestic Workers and backed by Santam. There are an estimated 1 million Domestic Workers in South Africa who do not have access to any formal Employment Benefits with most of their Employers not being compliant to Labour legislation
Netgen custom developed an online system in line with the client’s needs
Netgen created the front end website with all the information on the products and company. It is also from here that people can purchase the insurance product of their choice online through a simple registration and secure online payment gateway. Once they have purchased their insurance product they have access to the Labour Portal in the background where they can register their employees and make use of the various HR tools. The Labour Portal is simple to use and makes managing the Domestic Worker employee arrangement compliant with legislation and keeps a record of all HR matters such as pay slips, leave and sick days etc.
Netgen also custom developed a backend administration section for the client with access to all their client data, see what products have been purchased, manage clients and it has full downloadable reports.
The Domestic Assist system is in line with Netgen’s philosophy to develop great looking custom software solutions in line with the client’s specific needs which is online and therefore accessible from anywhere and user friendly.
The system was developed using PHP and MySQL for the Front End systems and back end custom developed .Net C# MySQL and once again shows how easily Netgen can interface between different platforms so that the client always gets the best of all options. Netgen is involved in the ongoing hosting, support and maintenance as well as the new developments as the system gains momentum.
